Today’s Everglades Fishing Report

The winds were light and out of the east today, when we left my dock, in Everglades City. We decided to head a mile offshore, and fish a couple of wrecks . When we arrived at the first spot, the mackerel were everywhere! Within minutes of casting out a rootbeer jig, we were hooked up with a nice size fish, tipping the scales at 5 lbs! After catching several more beautiful mackerel and bluefish, we began to head inshore, to fish a grass flat, where the trout and pompano like to hang out. Within several minutes into our first drift, the trout and pompano started to bite . We caught several nice trout and pompano that were in the 4-6 lb range. With April almost over, and May right around the corner, don’t miss out on some great fishing!  Give me a call, and let’s get out on the water, for a great day of fishing!

Great Day Of Fishing

With a cold front moving though Everglades City last night, we decided to head deep into the backcountry today to fish the shallow  bays for snook .  When we arrived at the first spot, the water was warm and clear. We decided to cast some top water plugs around the dead wood, that lines the shorelines. After 10 minutes of steady casting, we were hooked up with a beautiful 30 inch snook, that gave us a great fight. After we caught several more nice snook, the weather started to warm up. We decided to head out to the coastline, and fish the grass flats. While at the grass flat,  we caught a bunch of nice trout and pompano in the 2-5 lb range . April fishing has been great, providing us with great action! Don’t  miss out! Give me a call, and let me get you out on the water for a day of great fishing!

April’s Fishing Starts Off Red Hot

imageWhen we left my dock this morning we started to head to a nearby grass flat, to fish for trout and pompano . When  we arrived at the flat, the trout where schooled up and hungry! On our first two drifts, we scored with 11 beautiful trout, and pompano, that were up  to the 5 lbs range. As we were starting another drift, we noticed that the tarpon were starting to move in. We decided to bait up our heavier  rods with live ladyfish, and try our luck. Within minutes of casting out our bait, we were hooked up with a tarpon in the 80 lb range! After a 45 minute fight, we released the tarpon, unharmed . Later on in the day, the wind started to blow pretty hard out of the west. We decided to head back to the dock, and clean the trout we caught. When we finished cleaning up, we decided to have the oyster house restaurant cook  up the trout, for a great fish dinner. April fishing has started out great, providing with some non stop action! If your looking to get out on the water, and catch some fish, give me a call!

When we left my dock this morning, the weather was absolutely perfect! We had warm temperatures , and light winds out of the east. We decided to head down south and fish the Broad River area for redfish and snook . When we arrived at the first spot, the redfish where hungry and on the bite. Within minutes of casting out a fresh cut piece of lady fish, we were hooked up with a redfish that measured in at 34 inches and weighed in at 14 lbs . After catching several more nice sized redfish, the tide starting to fall. We decided to move up the river where we caught a few snook, in the 5 – 10 lb range . April is a great month for fishing in the Everglades! Don’t  miss out! Give me a call,  and let me get out on the water for a great day of fishing!

This morning, when we left my dock, the weather in Everglades city was cloudy, and rainy. We put on our rain gear, and headed south to get into some great action! The first spot we stopped at, was a shoreline that has been holding a lot of nice sized redfish. We casted out using a live shrimp under a popping cork, and within  minutes we were hooked up with a beautiful 10 lb redfish, that put up a great fight! After catching a few more redfish, the rain finally started to stop. We decided to move to a new spot to fish a nearby grass flat. While at the grass flat, we scored with several trout and pompano, that were  in the 3-5 lb range . With March almost over,  April is right around the corner and happens to be one of the best months for fishing in the Everglades! Don’t  miss out on some great action! Give me a call and let me get you out on the water!
