With a cold front moving though Everglades City last night, we decided to head deep into the backcountry today to fish the shallow  bays for snook .  When we arrived at the first spot, the water was warm and clear. We decided to cast some top water plugs around the dead wood, that lines the shorelines. After 10 minutes of steady casting, we were hooked up with a beautiful 30 inch snook, that gave us a great fight. After we caught several more nice snook, the weather started to warm up. We decided to head out to the coastline, and fish the grass flats. While at the grass flat,  we caught a bunch of nice trout and pompano in the 2-5 lb range .
