Everglades Fishing Report

This past week, the weather in the Everglades was warm, and very windy. When we left my dock this morning, we started to head deep into the backcountry, to fish the deep creeks, that would protect us from the wind . The bait we decided to use today, was a riptide jig tip, with a Fresh piece of shrimp, this bait works great this time of year . When we arrived at the first spot, the tide was falling. Within minutes of bouncing the jig slowly off the bottom, we scored with a beautiful redfish in the 8 lb range. After catching several more redfish, we went to another spot. While at or new location, we had non- stop action! We caught snook, redfish, and trout! Despite the wind in the Everglades today, the fishing has been great, providing us with some excellent action! If your would like to book a fishing trip in the Everglades, give me a call, and lets go catch some fish!

A Great Day Of Fishing In The Everglades

The weather in the Everglades today was perfect, so we decided to head toward the Chatham river, and fish for snook and redfish. When we arrived at our first spot, the tide was falling, and the fish were on the bite . Minutes after casting out a live pilchard for bait, that we had cast netted earlier in the day, we were hooked up with a beautiful snook that measured in at 29 inches! After catching several more snook, with a few nice redfish mixed in, we decided to head offshore to a nearby wreck. While at the wreck, we had steady action, catching some nice sized mackerel  and pompano. Don’t miss out on some great Everglades fishing! Give me a call, and let me get you into some great action!

Fishing in the Everglades , today, was filled with non stop action! When we left my dock , we  decided to head to a nearby grass flat to catch a few trout for dinner. When we arrived at the first spot, the tide was rising and  the trout were on the bite! We caught several nice sized trout that were in the 3-5 lb range . After catching our fill of trout, we decided to cast net some pilchards, for bait and head up into lostsman river bay. At Lostmans river bay, we would fish for snook and redfish . The first spot we stopped at was a shoreline, that was deep, with an oyster bottom . And after several minutes of casting out a live pilchard for bait, we were hooked up with a nice 26 inch redfish . After catching several more redfish, with a few nice size snook mixed in, we decided call it a day. We headed back toward Everglades city. Once we arrived, we had the oyster house restaurant cook up the fish we caught for dinner. March is a great month for fishing in the Everglades! If you want to get out on the water, and get into great action, give me a call!

Everglades Snook Action Heats Up

With the weather warmer than usual, for February, the snook fishing has been great! When we left my dock this morning, there was a strong, rising tide,so we headed down south to the Chatham river to try our luck and hopefully catch some snook . The bait we were using today was fresh cut lady fish, that snook cant resist this time of year. After about 10 minutes of casting out a fresh piece of cut lady fish, we scored with a nice snook weighing in at 15 lbs . After catching a few more snook, we started to head toward a nearby grass flat. While at the grass flat, we caught a bunch of beautiful trout and pompano, that would be going on the grill tonight for dinner. Fishing in February has been excellent! We have had some great action! If you would like to book a trip please give me a call and let me get you out onto the waters of the Everglades, for some great fishing!

Everglades Fishing Report

With the last cold front passing though, and the weather starting to warm up, fishing in the Everglades has been great this week . When we left my dock this morning, the winds were light and coming out of the east so we  headed offshore to fish for tripletail . When we got to the first spot, we saw 2 fish swimming around a crab trap buoy. After making a perfect cast, with a live shrimp, we scored with a nice triple tail, that was in the 10  lb range! After we caught a few more triple tail, we headed inshore to a redfish spot. With the tide coming, in the redfish were hungry! We scored at our new location with 9 beautiful redfish that were in the 4-10 range . The fishing in the Everglades this February has been filled with non stop action! Give me a call today, and let me get you out on the water for a day of great fishing!
