A Great Day Of Fishing In The Everglades

image

The first week of August is here, and with the weather perfect, we decided to head north of Everglades City and fish the Goodland area . The first spot we decided to fish at was a deep creek, with an oyster bar bottom. Within minutes of casting out a rootbeer riptide jig, we were hooked up with a snook weighing in at about 10 lbs. After catching a few more snook, we decided to head to a nearby grass flat. The tide was rising when we arrived at the glass flat, and the fish were on the bite! We scored with some nice trout and pompano, that my clients would be taking to the oyster house restaurant for dinner . August is a great month in the Everglades for fishing. If you  want to get into some action, give me call, and let me get you out on the water for a beautiful day of fishing!

Everglades Fishing Report

Today, fishing in the Everglades was filled with some great action! Since there were morning thunderstorms in the area, we decided to fishing close to Everglades City . On our way to the first spot, we decided to castnet some live finger mullet for bait and try our luck catching a few snook and redfish. When we arrived at the first location, the tide was rising. After casting out a live mullet, under a popping cork,  the redfish started to bite! We caught several nice reds up to 8 lbs . After catching our fill of redfish, we moved into a deeper shoreline, that was holding a good number of snook. While there, we scored with some good sized snook, that provided us with non stop action! With July just about over, and August right around the corner ,don’t miss out on some great action! Give me a call, and let me get you out on the water for a great day of fishing!

When we left my dock this morning, the weather in the Everglades  was perfect. There was no wind, so we decided to fish for trout and pompano .  When we arrived at the trout flats, we caught a great mix of trout and pompano, weighing up to 5 lbs. Later on in the morning,  the wind picked up and the tide was falling, so we decided to try our luck and catch some redfish and snook . When we arrived at our fishing spot, the snook were crashing schools of live finger mullet. We cast  netted some live mullet for bait, and within minutes of our cast, we scored with a beautiful 35 inch snook . As the rest of the morning went on, we caught a good number of snook, with a few redfish mix in . If you would like to get out on the water for great day of fishing, give me a call and lets go catch some fish!
