Everglades Fishing Report

imageThe fishing in the Everglades today was great. We had plenty of non stop action! When we left my dock,we headed offshore to catch some   bait.  After we netted our bait, we saw 2 nice permit tailing in the calm water. After making a great cast, using an imitation shrimp, we were hooked up. After a 20 minute fight, we landed and released the 25 lb permit , unharmed  .  Later on in the morning, we went to a spot where the snook and redfish have been hanging out. We anchored up and casted out a live pilchard on a popping cork. Before we knew it, the snook and redfish stared to bite! We caught several beautiful fish up to 12 lbs. Don’t  miss out on some great September fishing! Give me a call, and let me get you out on the water and into the fish!

Snook Season Is Here

image

This week is the opening of  snook season. The live pilchards are starting to show up for us to use for bait, which means the snook will be biting this month! When we left my dock this morning, we headed to a beach front that had some blown down trees, that the snook love to hang around . After anchoring up, and casting out a live pilchard for bait, we were hooked up with a snook that measured in at 27 inches. As the morning went on, we scored with serval more snook that were in the 24 – 27 inch range. We scored big time with one snook that was 30 inches! This snook would be going on my clients grill for dinner tonight . After the snook fishing slowed up, we headed to a trout flat. While at the trout flat we caught a good number of trout and pompano. Don’t miss out on some great September fishing action! Give me a call, and let me get you out on the water for a great day of fishing!

Everglades Fishing Report

This weeks the fishing in the Everglades was great! We had some awesome snook action, along the beaches on the high tides. The snook we have been catching have been between 4 to 10 lbs  . The redfish have also been on the bite. This week, we have been catching a good number of redfish along the mangrove islands. The bait that has been working the best has been a live mullet, under a popping cork . The grass flats have been producing some nice trout fishing this week. A lot of the trout we’ve been catching have been between 2-5 lbs. We have also had some nice pompano mixed in with the trout. August is almost over, so don’t miss out on some great Everglades fishing! Give me a call and let go catch some fish!

August Fishing Remains Red Hot

image

When we left my dock in Everglades City today the weather was overcast, with rain predicted later that morning. We decided it was best to fish close to the dock, so we headed over to the Lopez river, to try to catch some snook and reds . The bait we used  was live mullet, that we cast netted first thing this morning . When we arrived at the first spot, the tide was falling hard. After several minutes of soaking a bait on the bottom, the redfish started to bite! We caught several beautiful redfish up to 12 lbs.  After catching our fill of redfish, we headed to an oyster bar up river. While at the oyster bar, we caught a good number of snook, with a few nice mangrove snapper mix in. After the fish stopped biting, the thunder and lighting started to close in on us. We decided to call it a day, and headed back to Everglades City . Don’t miss out on some great fishing! Give me a call, and let me get you out on the water!
