May’s Outlook

(We caught this tarpon today May 1 using  a live. Ladyfish for bait)

May is one of the best month for fishing in the Everglades , and after a mild winter Mays fishing should be red hot  . May is one of the best month for catching tarpon , this time of year is when we find big schools of fish just offshore migrating up the coast tarpon can be challenge to catch but when you hook up with one you will be in for a fight you will never forget . Snook also should be on the bite in May and since the freeze 4 years ago the snook have made a great comeback . Snook pound for pound is one of the best fighting fish that swims in the Everglades providing you with fast action and long lighting runs. The redfishing in May should remain steady like it has all year . Redfish are a lot of fun to catch and when you find them in big schools it can provide you with non stop action. May is the best time for catching trout this is the time of year when trout are spawning so they will average bigger in size and be on the bite . May is one of the busy time for fishing So don’t miss out on some great action this month give me a call and let’s go catch some fish

Fishing In The Everglades Report

With the showers staring to built up early in the afternoon we decided to leave my dock in the Everglades at daylight . With the tide half way up and still rising we decided to fish a grass flat and catch a few trout for the dinner table . After a few minutes of casting a rootbeer riptide jig we scored with a nice 5 lb trout ,after catching several more trout and pompano we decided to net some live bait (pilchards)and do some snook fishing on the falling tide . The first spot we stop at was a deep hole that had a oyster bar on the bottom and within a couples of minutes of our first cast we had our first snook in the boat and after taking a couple  of  nice pictures for the photo album we released the fish unharmed . After catching a few more snook the afternoon storms where starting to built up so we decided head back to my dock and clean some fish for the dinner table . With April almost over and May a few days away don’t miss out on some great fishing action give me a call and let me set you up on your next fishing adventure

Snook And Redfish Are On The Bite

With the air temperatures in the Everglades in the mid 90s  this weeks  the snook and redfishing has been fantastic . When my clients arrived to my boat from the the Ritz Carlton hotel in naples they wanted to target snook and redfish so we decided to run way down south near lostsmans river where the fishing has been red hot . The bait we where using where live pilchards and fresh cut lady fish that are plentiful this time of year. When we arrived at our first spot the snook where crashing bait along the shoreline so it wasn’t long before we had a nice 8 lb snook in the the boat as the morning went on we caught several snook with a few nice size redfish mixed in . Later on in the day when the tide was rising we decided to fish a sand flat and caught a few nice size pompano.

Don’t miss out on some great fishing give my a call and I will set up your next fishing trip

The Snook Are On The Bite

When we left my dock in Everglades city the weather was hot  with no wind so we decided to go catch some snook that have been moving out from the backcountry.  The bait we where using was live pilchards that we cast netted on our way to the spot. The first area we where fishing was a mangrove island the had a hard sand bottom and within  minutes of our first cast we scored with a nice snook that was in the 10 lb range as the morning went on we caught several more snook with couple nice redfish mixed in . Later on in the day when the snook fishing slowed up we decided to fish a grass flat and caught several big trout and pompano . With the weather getting hot in the Everglades so is the fishing,  so don’t miss out on some great snook action  give me a call I let me set you up on your next fishing adventure
