Tarpon Time

With the weather perfect today and the Tarpon starting to move in we decided to try our luck and catch one of the biggest fish that swims in the Everglades . The bait we where using was a 4 inch red bomber plug that tarpon cant resist, as we arrived at our first spot we saw several nice tarpon rolling and within in minutes we where hook up with tarpon that was in the 80 lb range and after a 10 minute fight the tarpon jumped spilt the plug and swam away . After several more hook ups we finally landed one that was in the 100 lb range and after taking a few pictures we released the fish unharmed . April and May is a prime time for catching tarpon in the Everglades so if you want to try your luck catching one of these silver kings give me a call and I  will set you up on your next Fishing adventure

April’s Outlook

April is finally here and so will all kinds of species of fish be here  to . The Tarpon fishing in April should be on fire this is the time of year we will start to see big schools of fish just offshore and in the deep passes. Tarpon this time of year can average between 80-140 lbs and provide some great action. The Snook fishing should also be good in April , they should start moving out from the backcountry and moving out along the outside point and beach fronts . The best bait for catching Snook this time of year is live pilchard or a fresh peice cut of lady fish . The red fishing in April should also remain steady like it has been all year the best bait for catching redfish this time of year is a live shrimp under a popping cork . April is the best month for catching big Trout this is the time of year when Trout spawn so they will be of good size and on the bite  . The best way to catch Trout  in April is to drift over the grass flats and bounce a riptide shrimp jig slowly along the bottom . April is the time of year when the fishing really starts to heat up so don’t miss out on some great fishing , give me a call and let me set up your next fishing trip

The Sharks Are On The Bite

Today when we left my dock in the Everglades we decided to do some shark fishing . The first spot we where fishing was a deep pass where a lot of Sharks like to pass on though . The bait that works the best and we where using was a live lady fish that shark and tarpon can’t resist . Within minutes of setting out or first line we had a 100 lb bull shark on the line and after an 20 minute fight we got some great pictures and released the fish unharmed . After catching and releasing several more nice sharks we stop and fished a nearby deep hole where we caught some nice sheepshead and mangrove snappers that where going on the grill for tonight’s dinner . There are many different  types of sharks that swim in the waters of the  Everglades so if you want to  get into some great shark fishing give me a call

Fishing Is Red Hot In The Everglades

We are in the time of year where the fishing really starts to turn on . When we left my dock this morning we headed to the grass flats to fish for Trout and Pompano . The bait we where using was a riptide jig for the Trout and a 1inch tube jig that Pompano can’t resist . On our first drift we scored with several nice trout and Pompano up to 5 lbs ,also mixed in with the Trout where some good size Mackerel and Blue fish . After catching our fill of Trout and Pompano we decided to stop at outside point where the tide was rising and caught a nice mix of Redfish and Snook . With March coming to an end and April right around the corner don’t miss out on some great fishing action ,give me a call and let me set up your next fishing adventure
