November 5th Fishing Report

We went from summer time temperatures to winter over night . When we left my dock out of everglades city this morning the temperature was a cool 52 and the wind was blowing hard out of the north at 25 mph. We decided to run deep into the backcountry and cast jigs tip with shrimp .At our first spot we scored with several nice trout to 4 lbs . After we got tired of catching trout we decided to target some snook around an oyster bar were the tide was running out there we catch several small snook to 5 lbs.

Todays everglades report tarpon

We left my dock out of everglades city at day light and ran offshore to a spot were the tarpon move in this time of year .When we arrived to this spot we saw several tarpon free jumping . Our bait of choice were live Lady fish we caught on way out to this tarpon whole . We floated a live lady fish under a float and within minutes were hooked up to 120 lb everglades silver king , after about 45 minutes we landed and released this monster. We stayed fishing tarpon the rest of the day with great success.

Everglades tarpon report

With the warm  everglades weather me and my clients from Ohio decide to try our luck for tarpon . We left my dock out of everglades city at daylight and headed way down south to Houston river were the tarpon like to hang out. when we arrived at our destination   we spotted several tarpon rolling . The bait we were using were slow sinking plugs that run about 2-3 feet below the surface . It took about an 1/2 hour before we got one of these silver kings to bite and when we did it was a big one in the 100lbs range .After a 45 minute  fight we finally landed and released him . We stay fishing tarpon for the whole day jumping and released several more. The  tarpon are truly the king og the everglades.

Everglades big snook report

Today in the everglades we were targeting big snook the first thing we did is run offshore and netted a bunch of thread Herring in the 4 to 6 inch range . Than we headed down south to the harney river to catch the outgoing tide  and fish for big snook using live bait. On our first cast we had a nice snook on about 10 lbs . On our second bait my client hook a big snook after about a 10minute fight we landed and released a monster that weight in at 22 lbs .As the day went on we hook and caught several more in the 10 to 15 lb range . This was a great day of big snook fishing in the everglades.
