Snook And Redfish Are On the BIte

With the weather in May being perfect so was the fishing today  . When we left my dock out of Everglades city we decided to run way south near lostsmans river and fish for snook and redfish . The bait we where using today where live pilchards and fresh cut lady fish that snook and redfish love to eat . As we pulled up to our first spot we saw several nice snook crashing bait along the shoreline and within minutes of our first cast we landed a nice snook  that couldn’t resist a live pilchard,  after catching several more nice snook we moved to a shoreline that had hard oyster bottom that holds a lot of redfish  . After making several casts with a live pilchard and not having any luck we switch our bait to a Fresh cut lady fish that did the trick and turned the redfish on , we scored with several nice reds to 7 lbs

With the fishing action in May on fire don’t miss out on some great action give me a call I can set you up on your next fishing adventure

Everglades Fishing Report

With the rumors of a few permit starting to show up just offshore we decided to head out there and try or luck. The bait that works the best and we where using was a live small blue crab. When we arrived at the first spot we serval nice size permit cruising on the surface and after making a perfect cast we where hook up with a permit that gave us a great 20 minute fight. As the rest of the morning went on we caught a couple more nice permit and then when the wind started to pick up we decided to head inshore and fish a near by grass flat where we caught several nice trout that the oyster house restaurant in Everglades city was going to cook us up for dinner
Fishing in the Everglades is at it best so don’t miss out in some great action give me a call and let’s go catch some fish

Windy Weather Doesn’t Slow Up Fishing

This week has been filled with a lot of strong wind so when my clients arrived to my dock from the Ritz Carlton resort we decided to fish the waters close to Everglades City . The   spot we where going fishing was a deep creek that had and oyster bottom and holds a lot of nice Redfish . The bait we where using today was a smoke colored riptide shrimp jig tip with a fresh piece of shrimp this bait is one of the best bait for catching fish in the Everglades . When we arrived to our spot the tide was rising and after several of minutes of casting we had our fish redfish in the boat that weight 8 lbs as the morning went on we caught a mixed bag of fish including Redfish, Snook,Trout ,and Snapper . That’s one things good about fishing in the Everglades 10,000 Islands area no matter how hard the wind blows you can always find a hiding spot out of the wind and catch fish. The weather forecast for the rest of the week is looking good light winds and warm temperatures so if you want to get into some great fishing action give me a call

May’s Outlook

(We caught this tarpon today May 1 using  a live. Ladyfish for bait)

May is one of the best month for fishing in the Everglades , and after a mild winter Mays fishing should be red hot  . May is one of the best month for catching tarpon , this time of year is when we find big schools of fish just offshore migrating up the coast tarpon can be challenge to catch but when you hook up with one you will be in for a fight you will never forget . Snook also should be on the bite in May and since the freeze 4 years ago the snook have made a great comeback . Snook pound for pound is one of the best fighting fish that swims in the Everglades providing you with fast action and long lighting runs. The redfishing in May should remain steady like it has all year . Redfish are a lot of fun to catch and when you find them in big schools it can provide you with non stop action. May is the best time for catching trout this is the time of year when trout are spawning so they will average bigger in size and be on the bite . May is one of the busy time for fishing So don’t miss out on some great action this month give me a call and let’s go catch some fish

Fishing In The Everglades Report

With the showers staring to built up early in the afternoon we decided to leave my dock in the Everglades at daylight . With the tide half way up and still rising we decided to fish a grass flat and catch a few trout for the dinner table . After a few minutes of casting a rootbeer riptide jig we scored with a nice 5 lb trout ,after catching several more trout and pompano we decided to net some live bait (pilchards)and do some snook fishing on the falling tide . The first spot we stop at was a deep hole that had a oyster bar on the bottom and within a couples of minutes of our first cast we had our first snook in the boat and after taking a couple  of  nice pictures for the photo album we released the fish unharmed . After catching a few more snook the afternoon storms where starting to built up so we decided head back to my dock and clean some fish for the dinner table . With April almost over and May a few days away don’t miss out on some great fishing action give me a call and let me set you up on your next fishing adventure
