Red Hot Redfish Fishing – Jan 12, 2011

The Redfish fishing in the Everglades has been red hot when we left my dock this morning the weather was in the low 60s and going to rise into the mid 70s by this afternoon. With a live well full of live shrimp we headed down south and fish the rising tide around some mangrove islands. Everglades Redfish FishingWe rig up a live shrimp under under a popping cork this can be one of the most productive way of fishing for Redfish in the Everglades area. After a few minute of our first cast we caught and landed a nice 21 inch Redfish after several more casts the Redfish started to school up we had solid action for several hour catching and releasing many Redfish from 18 to 23 inches. Later on the afternoon as we were heading back to my dock in Everglades City we decided to fish a grass flat for some trout and pompano. On our first drift we scored with 4 nice pompano that went into the cooler for dinner that night. After catching a few more trout we decided to call it a great day of fishing and head back to my dock . The Everglades fishing charter action the last few week has been great with some nice schools of Redfish and Trout being caught.
