November Fishing Report – December Outlook

November 2012 Fishing Report for The Everglades

What a great month for fishing in The Everglades November was – With the air and water temperature dropping a few degree’s the fishing was excellent . The Redfish did not let us down this month we had many days were we found schools of Redfish that where hungry and on the bite. The bait we had our best luck on where live pilchards and fresh cut ladyfish . Most of the Redfish we caught were in the 2 – 10 lb range . Mixed in with the Redfish where a few nice size Snook, but the best Snook action was in the rivers and backcountry where the water was warmer. The Trout fishing this month had also been on fire, we having been catching nice size Trout on the grass flat and in the deeper cuts along the mangrove island .The bait we been having the best luck on have been a root beer jig bounced slowly along the bottom . The Pompano fishing has been picking up this month , we been having some great luck catching some nice size Pompano on the grass flats using 3/8 oz tube jig. The Mackerel have also providing us with some good action this month , Mackerel are great fish to catch they can provide you some fast and furious action. Overall November fishing has been great and with the live bait still around the fishing should remain excellent.

December Fishing Charter Outlook for Everglades National Park
December fishing should remain good just like November with the cooler air and water temperatures look for the Snook to move deeper into the backcountry where the water will be a lot warmer . Since Redfish are not affected by the cooler water temperatures the Redfish this time of year will still be hanging around the outside points and islands . This time of year is one of the best time for catching Trout and like November The Trout will be all over the grass flats and in the deep passes . Trout can provide some non stop action and make for great fish dinner. Pompano fishing this time of year can be red hot ,Pompano love to hang on the grass flats where they like to feed on small sand fleas . Pompano pound for pound are one of the best fighting fish and like Trout provide for some great eating .

I would like to thank you for checking out my website and this is the time of year where I start to get busy so if you would like to book a great day out of the water please give me a call

Thanks and Merry Christmas,
Capt Glenn 239-280-9085

Fishing Charter Outlook for September 2012

September Fishing Charter - Snook from the Mangroves

August Fishing Charter Report / September Fishing Outlook for fishing in the Everglades National Park

In August Everglades fishing was fantastic, with live bait (Pilchards) moving in the fishing was great. We had some great Snook fishing action on our fishing charters, with days were we caught 15-20 Snook. Most of the Snook we caught were in the 4- 12 lb range. The bait that seem to work the best were live pilchards, no surprise there, that we cast netted early in the morning. The Redfishing was also on fire this month with many of the Redfish mixed in with the Snook,  averaging anywhere from 2-10 lbs.  Very much like Snook redfish love pilchards, and when pilchards didn’t work a shrimp under a popping cork did the trick. Trout fishing also provided us with some great action this month. We found the best action early in the morning on the grass flats in 3-5 ft of water. Again, s live Pilchard or Pinfish under a popping cork seen to work the best for the bigger Trout that average between 3-5 lbs. Over all Everglades fishing charters in August were very good. providing us with a lot of great action

September Everglades Fishing Outlook

September is one of the best months for fishing in the Everglades. With the abundance of live bait around the fishing should be red hot. Snook fishing should remain good providing us with some great fast action. We like to fish for Snook along the mangrove islands in 2-4 ft of water. Live bait work the best for catching Snook this time of year. The Snook we catch can average anywhere from 4 -20 lbs, and provide anglers with lighting runs and head shaking jumps..  Making them one of most popular fish to target in the Everglades. Redfishing will also be heating up in September. Redfish will start to bunch up into schools along the beaches in 3-5 ft of water. A live shrimp or pilchard under a popping cork seems works the best this time of year. Redfish are a great fighting fish, just when you think you have them tired out they start the fight all over again. Trout fishing in September should also be very good! Trout like to school up on the grass flats early in the morning before the afternoon heat sets in. The bait that works the best this time of year are a live pinfish under a popping cork. Trout fishing can provide some fast and great action and make for a great fish dinner.

If you would like to get in some great September fishing action please give a call to book a charter in Everglades National Park.

Everglades Fishing Report for July + August Fishing Charter Outlook

July Fishing Charter, Fishing in the Everglades
July Fishing Charter, Fishing in the Everglades

July 2012 Fishing Report for Everglades National Park

Everglades fishing during July was great, even with the hot weather and not much rain the fish have been on the bite. The redfishing in The Everglades during July has been excellent!  We has been catching good numbers of Redfish early in the morning on the rising tides. Live finger mullet under a popping cork has been working the best for bait. Most of the fish we have been catching have been in the 2-8 lb range. The Snook fishing has also been good in July, most of the Snook we have been catching have been on the falling tides. A lot of the Snook have been of nice size raging anywhere from 7- 12 lbs (typical for Everglades fishing charters this time of year) the bait that have been working the best have been fresh cut ladyfish. In addition, trout fishing has also been good but with the water temperatures hitting close to 90 degrees the bite has been the best early in the morning. The Trout we have been catching have been striking on a Riptide Rootbeer Shrimp tail jig bounced slowly on the bottom in 3-5 ft of water. Over all charter fishing in July was excellent, providing fast and great fishing action.

August 2012 Fishing Charter Outlook

August fishing in Everglades Nat’l Park should be a lot like July fishing pattern with fish being caught early In the morning before the mid day heat sets in. Redfishing has been good all year but in August it should be even better with big schools starting to show up along the beaches and mangrove islands. Redfish are great fighters and provide some great fishing charter action. Snook will also provide some great action in August. A lot of Snook we catch will be mixed in with the Redfish. Snook are one of the most popular gamefish here in the Everglades. The fight of a Snook is like no other with head shaking jumps and lighting runs. Catching one will provide you with a memory of a lifetime. Trout fishing will also be good in August with the best fishing coming early in the morning . Trout like to hang around the grass in about 3-5 ft of water were they like to feed on pinfish. Trout can provide so great fast action and also make you a great fish dinner!

If you would like to book a trip August or any other month please give me a call.
