Everglades Fishing Report

image

The weather in the Everglades the past few days has been absolutely perfect!  A light wind, and warm temperatures have made for some great fishing . The first spot we stopped at today,  was a grass flat, where we have been catching a good number of trout and pompano. With  the tide low, and starting to rise  at the grass flat, the fish where hungry. Two minutes into our first drift, we scored with five nice sized trout that where in the 4 lb range .  After catching our fill of trout, we headed to the Chatham river, to fish the incoming tide. While at the Chatham river, we caught a nice mix of redfish and snook, using a riptide shrimp jig . The fishing in the Everglades this week has been providing us with some great action! Don’t  miss out!  Give me a call, and let’s go catch some fish!

Fishing Remains Red Hot In The Everglades

When we left my dock today, the weather  in the Everglades was a perfect 75 degrees with no wind. We decided to fish the wrecks, about 2 miles offshore of Everglades city. When we arrived at the first location,  we spotted 3 nice cobia swimming on the surface. After making a prefect cast, with a big live shrimp, the fight was on! After a 10 minute battle, we landed a cobia! Our catch was going to make  a great fish for dinner tonight. After catching a couple more cobia, we decided to head inshore and fish the grass flats. The grass flats is where the trout and pompano have been hanging out. About 5 minutes into our first drift,  the fish started to bite! We caught several nice trout, with a few nice pompano mixed in . The fishing in the Everglades has been great this week, providing us with some non stop action! Don’t miss out some excellent fishing! Give me call, and let’s go catch some fish!

Today’s Fishing Report

imageimage

Fishing in the Everglades this week has been filled with great, non stop, action!  When we left my dock today, we headed south to fish the Lostmans river area , for redfish and trout. The first spot we stopped at, was an oyster bar, in the mouth of the river. The oyster bar has been holding a lot of nice sized redfish . The bait that we  used today, was a live shrimp, under a popping cork, which works best for catching redfish this time of year . After a few minutes of casting out our bait, we scored with a nice sheepshead, that tipped the scales at 7 lbs !  After catching a couple more sheepshead, the redfish started to moved in. We caught 14 nice reds, that were in the 4 to 9 lb range. Later on in the day, when the tide was rising, we stopped and fished  a grass flat. At the grass flat, the trout fishing provided us with some great non stop action! Don’t miss out on some great fishing! Give me a call, and let me take you on the water for a great day of fishing!

Fishing Heats Up After Last Cold Front

image

The weather has finally started warming up after the last big cold front , so we decided to fish the creeks that are  located deep in the back country. In the back county, the water is warmer, and the fish should be hanging out there. The first spot we stopped at, was a deep creek that had an oyster and rock bottom. The bait we used today was a riptide jig tip, with a piece fresh shrimp, which works best this time of the year. After  several minutes of our first cast, we scored with a nice size snook, that put up a great fight. After taking several  nice pictures with the snook, we released the fish, unharmed . As the morning went on, the fishing remained great. We caught a good mix of nice sized snook and redfish .  The fishing is really starting to heat up after this last cold front we had. Don’t  miss out on some great fishing! Give me a call, and let me get you out on the water for a day of great fishing!

Redfish And Trout Are On The Bite

image

Today, when we left my dock out of Everglades City, the tide was super low. Because of the low tide, we decided to fish the the passes where the water is deeper, and the fish like to hang out .  When we arrived at the first spot, the redfish were there, and within minutes of casting out a riptide jig, we had a bite. We scored big with several nice redfish up to 10 lbs . Later on in the morning, when the tide started to rise, we headed out to the grass flats. Once at the grass flats, we were able to catch a nice mix of pompano , trout and mackerel. Don’t miss out on some great fishing this new year! Give me a call, and let me get you out on the water for a great day of fishing!
