With September here and the weather still perfect the fishing in the Everglades has been great . When we left my dock today we headed to a bait spot and cast netted some live pilchards for bait. The first spot we stop at was a shoreline that holds a lot of redfish and after a few minutes of casting out a live Prichard under a popping cork we scored with a nice size redfish that was in the 7 lb range after catching several more nice redfish we decided to fish a nearby grass flat where we have been catching some nice size trout . The bait where using was a root beer riptide jig that really works good for catching trout and other species like pompano and mackerel . After several minutes into our first drift across the grass flat we scored with 8 nice trout and 2 pompano. With the bait starting to move in , the fishing in September has been great providing us with some great action. Don’t miss out on some great fishing give me a call let let’s go catch some fish
