Tarpon Fishing in Everglades National Park

Tarpon are known as "The Silver King," and they truly are. In the waters of the Everglades, these fish can average from all different sizes. We start to fish for Tarpon in the month of March. By then they start to move into the outside island bays, where, they will lay up high on the water to absorb the warmth of the sunlight, making it great for sight fishing.Everglades Tarpon Fishing Later on in the months of April - June, Tarpon will start to bunch in schools, off of the outside beaches. They then move into the the deep rivers, where they will feed on Mullet, Ladyfish, and Crabs. One popular way which we like to fish for Tarpon is casting shallow water plugs. The Plugs run 1-3 ft beneath the water. The fight of a mighty Tarpon will be a true battle, and a experience of a lifetime.

Everglades Snook Fishing

Snook are another popular fish of the Everglades that we will fish for. These fish can be caught all year long. In the months of March - November, we like to fish for Snook in and around the mangrove islands along the edge of the Gulf Of Mexico. At this time of year, the water begins to warm up, and the Snook start to move out of the backcountry and will migrate into the outside islands. A popular way to fish for Snook at this time of year, is maneuvering the boat around the shallow waters of the mangrove islands. Casting a live bait or artificial bait such as Riptide, jigs, or top water plugs are also very productive. In the months of December - February, we fish for snook as they move deep into the backcountry bays and creeks, where the water is at a much warmer temperature. Snook are famous for their lighting runs ,wild jumps, and the way they attack a top water plug. These fish are amazing and fun to fish for on light tackle and also on fly.
