Snook Season Is Here

Snook  season has finally open after being closed for 4 years so when we left my dock today out of Everglades city we headed south to lostsman river to try our luck in catching a snook for tonight’s  dinner . The bait we where using where live pilchards and mullet that we cast netted on our way to our first spot . When we arrived at the first spot the tide was falling hard so we decided to fish our baits on the bottom and within minutes of our first cast we scored with A nice snook that was 25 inches long but not big enough to keep, snook have to be a minimum of 28 inches to keep now a days so catching one of keeper size can be quite challenging . After catching several more short snook we decided to head to an outside point where the tide was rising and where the snook like to hang out . After several minutes of our first cast we scored with a nice snook that measured 31 inches and was going to make for a nice fish dinner tonight . After  catching a few more  snook the afternoon storms started to built so we decided to call it a day and head back to my dock . Snook fishing in the Everglades can provide a lot of great action so don’t miss out give me a call and let me set you up on your next fishing trip
