Snook season will be opening in September for the first time since the big cold front that hurt the snook population four years ago.  So today when we left my dock we decided to head down south and fish for snook and redfish around the Chatham river area . The bait we where using today was live finger mullet and fresh cut ladyfish that snook and redfish love to eat this time of year . The first spot we stop at was a shoreline that oyster bottom , and within 2 minutes of our first cast we scored with a nice redfish that tip the scales at 8 lbs .after catching several more nice redfish we headed to and outside point where the tide was rising and the snook where hanging out , we caught several good size snook up to 14 lbs . Snook are one of the most popular fish that we like to catch here in the Everglades  and is one of the best eating fish there is , if you want to get into some great fishing give me a call and let me set you up on your next fishing adventure
